Plot
How can you face the future when you can't remember the past? Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce: L.A. Confidential) and his wife were attacked in their home. The perpetrator raped and murdered his wife and knocked Leonard unconscious. Shelby survived the attack, but suffered an injury that blocks his short term memory. He can remember everything prior to the incident, but everything since fades after a few minutes. Now his world is pieced together with photographs, charts, notes and tattoos. Also starring Carrie-Anne Moss (Chocolat) and Joe Pantoliano (The Matrix), Memento is a profound and gripping thriller that follows the struggles of a man who is trying to find himself within the rag-tag remnants of his past and seek revenge.
